The horsebit or “shackle” was derived from the tether medallion in the Keepsakes collection. This piece takes a form that was used for such a dark history and repurposes it into something beautiful. For me it has become a reclamation of my ancestors' story.

Diamonds are durable by nature & among the hardest natural stones but still should be handled with care. Avoid harsh chemicals and extreme heat. If your stone needs cleaning, you can use a polishing cloth, dish soap, and a baby tooth brush to clean underneath the setting. All Florence Jean jewelry is created from precious metals (ie. solid 14k gold or sterling silver). Jewelry can be worn in water and will develop a natural patina with time. We recommend removing jewelry when doing heavy activity to avoid damage.
