This was a father’s day gift for my dad. I made it for him after going out to dinner with him and seeing how much he needed a toothpick lol. After gifting it to him, I asked if I could photograph him with the toothpick. He accidentally dropped it in between these wooden planks in our yard and lost it. I was sad that it was gone but offered to make him a new one. He insisted on finding it even though it was literally like searching for a needle in a haystack. After days of searching, he finally found it. It was so special that it meant so much to him to recover the original. Moments like these are why I make jewelry. I love how much sentimental value these timeless objects carry and how gifting them can be such a sacred moment between loved ones.
